Gertmenian & Sons was established in the United States in 1896, in Binghamton, New York. The company came to California in 1918. Through all these years, it has been owned by one family. The present managing partner, Peter Gertmenian, is the great grandson of the founder. He is assisted by a team of professionals who specialize in business finance, warehouse operations, information technology, product design, packaging, importing, and logistics. At Gertmenian we know that our success is due in large part to the hard work and passion of our employees, who we view as family.  SILVIA VARGAS Accounting and Records I joined G. A. Gertmenian & Sons fresh out of college. I have been part of the Accounting & Human Resources departments. My co-workers know me as the payroll person above all but my history with Gertmenian and its growth has given me unique opportunities to develop skills in several areas. Questions and issues with Worker’s compensation, logistics management and safety have been part of the challenges I have dealt with over the years. I enjoy developing personal connections with each employee, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, and keeping up to date on the HR landscape. I am ready to assist in any area, happy to listen to issues and driven to find solutions. Catherine Horrigan Designer I have been with Gertmenian since 2014. My background includes textile and graphic design with experience in the hospitality and home markets. I work with the sales team to bring design & trend direction to our customer base. I develop Trend Reports based on my research to achieve our directions towards offering designs in demand. Ladislao Campos Assistant Manager I joined Gertmenian 25 years ago, where I have been fortunate to further my career over time. I initiated as a warehouse laborer, over the years, I have gained expertise in warehouse operations, logistics and order fulfillment. Currently, I am the Warehouse Assistant Manager, driven by supporting my accounts, merchandising, inventory and my team. Aside from contributing to warehouse efficiency, I like to come in with a positive attitude and give my team positive reinforcement. Despite encountering challenging periods, the unwavering backing of our company culture excites me as I anticipate continued involvement in Gertmenian's growth. Troy Gibson Chief Financial Officer I joined the company in July of 2019 and serve as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). I oversee corporate finance, treasury, financial reporting and assist with corporate strategic planning and initiatives. I have over 30 years of experience including 18 years as the CFO in the consumer products industry. I attended the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science, Accounting and I was licensed in California as a Certified Public Accountant (currently inactive). It is truly a pleasure to work at Gertmenian and be a part of the long and storied history. Mercedes Quizon Accounts Receivable Specialist/Analyst I started with this prestigious company way back March 20, 2000. My job requires a lot of patience and presence of mind. I managed incoming payments , reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies. This management role involves overseeing invoice preparation, recording collections of customer invoices ensuring accurate processing payments received, generating some payment reports and handling customer or internal account inquiries i.e., filing claims against chargebacks that is being applied on their remittances. Michael Campos Showroom Specialist I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I started working here at Gertmenian in June of 2018 through a temp agency and got hired into the company in October of that same year. I’ve learned so much here at Gertmenian, from assembling the racks, how to pick and pack orders for costumers, loading and offloading containers. Now I’m taking on a new task and working in our sample department displaying our new and up and coming rugs to our customers here in Los Angeles and in New York. I’m so grateful to be a part of Gertmenian team and I look forward to learning more.
